Frequently Asked Questions

How do you detect WordPress plugins?

WordPress plugins load JavaScript, CSS, and other assets from /wp-content/plugins/{plugin-name}/. By analyzing the page source and network requests, we can identify which plugins are active.

Can hidden or deactivated plugins be detected?

We can only detect active plugins that load assets on the frontend. Inactive plugins don't load any assets and therefore can't be detected.

What about premium or custom plugins?

Custom plugins still load assets from /wp-content/plugins/ with their custom folder name. Premium plugins from well-known vendors (like Elementor, WP Rocket) are identified by their known paths.

How many plugins can be detected?

We have fingerprints for hundreds of popular WordPress plugins. Detection depends on what scripts and stylesheets are loaded on the page you scan.
