About Classic ASP
Classic ASP is Microsoft's original server-side scripting (.asp pages on IIS), older than ASP.NET. Detection relies on the X-Powered-By header, the ASPSESSIONID cookie and .asp links.

- `ASPSESSIONID…` session cookie
- Relative .asp links
- Mostly found on older business sites
How We Detect Classic ASP
Our scanner identifies Classic ASP usage through the following signals:
- HTTP response headers: x-powered-by containing "ASP(?!.NET)" (high-confidence tier)
- Cookies named like "ASPSESSIONID" (medium-confidence tier)
- Signal weights for Classic ASP: 85 points per high-tier match, 55 per medium, 25 per low — a site needs 60+ points before Classic ASP is reported.
